To travel to Nepal, most visitors need a visa, however it is recommended to check your own personal situation in advance. Tourist visas typically last 15 to 90 days, with fees varying depending on the length of stay. We recommend purchasing your visa in advance to ensure this is finalised before you travel, however it can also be finalised upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport. We work with local partners on the ground in Nepal who can assist with this process, and your Journey Designer will include this service in your booking if you wish.
For Bhutan, all foreign tourists (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) must obtain a visa in advance through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator. Visitors need to book a package tour that includes accommodation and transport, as Bhutan regulates tourism to preserve its culture and environment. There is no visa on arrival for Bhutan, so planning is essential, and the visa will be added to your booking by your Journey Designer.
If you have any questions regarding visas it is recommended to check your home country’s travel advisory to begin with, but feel free to contact your Journey Designer should you require further information.
